Credo

Each member of the SSL swears to uphold the following vow:

I, as a bonafide member of the SSL, swear . . .

  1. To come to the aid of any S.O.S. by any member of the SSL as soon as is feasable. If you can provide little or no aid to the member, just tell them so. However, you should try to provide what assistance you can afford.

  2. To never attack any other members of the SSL without the direct consent of that member. If the member has a bounty on his/her head, it may be more advantagous for the league if we keep that bounty within the league, and help the member to get back on his feet quickly. Thus, whenever anyone puts a bounty on a member of the SSL, it will essentially be a donation to the SSL.

  3. To never attack any members of alliances with whom the SSL has declared peace with. Such actions could comprimise peace processes, and bring an all out war. Anyone who does anything that interferes with peace talks, shall be reprimanded publicly. (such reprimandation will mainly be to undo the damage done, and make sure everyone knows that the action was not consistent with the views of the SSL, and are not to be taken personally).

  4. To answer all attempts of direct communication by other members of the SSL when it is feasable to do so.

  5. To answer all status checks by member of the SSL. Such status checks are intended so that we may all know each other's status, and so we can be sure everyone is safe, secure, and ok. They also allow us to react more quickly in the case of an emergancy, as we may already have a good idea where everyone is at, and the quickest way to get there.

  6. That I belong to no other groups other than the SSL. This does not include your race's high council, or friendships with other players not of the SSL. We do, however, suggest that you attempt to recruit such friends.

  7. To keep all excess money in one of the groups accounts. You should keep as little as possible on your ship, just enough to continue trading, and somewhere between 10,000 to as much as 100,000 in you personal bank account.

  8. To attack only authorized targets. These targets inclued individuals on The Executioners List, individuals who have a bounty on their head, known pirates, members of alliances whom we are currently at war with, members of race that your race at war with, and annyone who has attacked you or your planet in the past. Also, if you enter a sector and are attacked by combat drones/mines, than you are authorized to attack any non-newbie ship in that sector, as newbie's cannot drop forces or be attacked. This rule does not authorize you to attack targets, it merely eliminates potential targets.

  9. To exchange my maps on a regular basis. Good times to exchange maps include: right before logging off, anytime you are on the alliance screen, and anytime you feel like it.

  10. To report the deployment of drones/mines to all my fellow SSL members. This is so members will know where they can go if they are in need of a little extra support.

  11. To report all use of alliance money from alliance accounts. This is designed so that we all know where the money is going, and to prevent arguements among members. If you need more money than is in your designated account, contact someone higher up on the hierarchy. They should be able to give you more money if it is needed.

  12. To never pass up an opportunity to recruit new members. You should, however, not give out the password to anyone, untill they say for sure that they are going to join.

  13. To keep SSL planets well stocked and defended at all times. This is becasue our planets are necessary to our success. At times they may be our only hope. NOTE: in order to be under a planets protection, you must LAND on it. The planet's guns cannot protect you if you are just in the same sector.

  14. To check to make sure that a target is a viable target before attacking it. This means running through rules 2, 3, and 8 before engaging a target. This is to prevent accidental shootings, and to eliminate the excuse of "I forgot."

The above rules are written as the best way to explain the intent of the SSL. They are not to be taken literally, but rather, you should follow the spirit, not the letter of the law.
